2017 Vega Sicilia Valbuena #5

Valbuena 5º is the purest expression of red wine from Vega Sicilia, aged for five years between wood and bottle, which gives the wine its name: Valbuena 5º.
A complex vintage, amidst frost and drought. A quick and early harvest, it was undoubtedly a challenging vintage that we sought to interpret by extracting less during fermentation and adapting the aging process. In the first year of aging, we reduced the weight of new barrels, reducing them by 10% (%). The second year of aging is spent in wooden vats, essential for developing the wine's harmony and tension.
Valbuena 5º 2017, is a more mature, succulent and voluptuous expression, always from harmony.

This wine is currently suitable for drinking, but has a storage potential of 25 years if stored in optimal conditions: 12-14 ºC / 54-57 ºF and 60 % relative humidity.
It is recommended to consume at 18 ºC / 64 ºF.
