2022 Domaine Jean-Marc Roulot Aligote

Domaine Roulot, established in Meursault at the end of the 18th century, covers 11 hectares devoted primarily to white grapes. Under Guy Roulot's direction, the estate switched to organic and then biodynamic farming. Jean-Marc Roulot, also an actor, oversees the winemaking process. The Meursault 1er cru Perrieres, from plots such as Luchets and Boucheres, is a standout, achieving considerable success at auction.

Jean-Marc Roulot has distinguished himself as one of the most skilled winemakers in the Meursault appellation. His unique style is characterized by a transition to biodynamic farming in the early 2000s, after having adopted organic farming in 1998.

Aging on lees in barrels for one year, followed by six months in vats exclusively with natural yeasts, is a testament to their constant pursuit of excellence in the winemaking process. The wines, sometimes perceived as austere in their youth, reveal extraordinary breadth over time, aging with enviable grace.

However, the fame of Jean-Marc Roulot's wines has generated such demand that it has become difficult for the winery to accept new customers. Nevertheless, you are fortunate to find them on the menus of many fine restaurants, where these wine treasures continue to make a splash.
