2019 Domaine Henri Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin

Total production of this Gevrey-Chambertin typically hovers around 6,500 bottles per year. Charles Magnien selects it from six different plots in the village at the foot of the hill. The wine is cold macerated to impart its fruity, intense character. It is then aged for 12 months in barrels, 25 of which are new. Bottling is done without fining or filtration. As for the style, I've read that it refers to Mortet rather than Rousseau, a very good description for those familiar with these wines. Henri Magnien's wines are always full-bodied, almost juicy, but still authentic Burgundy of the highest quality.
