2022 Domaine Henri Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin 1.5L Magnum

This small family winery was founded in 1987 by Henri Magnien, who handed over the management of the domain to his son François. Although it's a young winery, the family had a clear vocation for winemaking since 1656. With the 2009 vintage, it's François's son, Charles Magnien, who will take charge of keeping alive the legacy of the 11 generations of winemakers who preceded him.

Almost unknown outside of Bourgogne and the French sphere, Charles is a young winemaker who works just over 6 hectares on the Côte de Saint-Jacques hill, an area nestled west of Gevrey-Chambertin, whose vineyards narrowly missed out on Grand Cru status during the 1930 classification.
