Despite its deceptively light garnet color, Barolo has full palate presence and plenty of tannins and acidity. The traditional Barolo style is based on the use of large neutral wooden vats for aging, which do not impart flavor to the wine and preserve the natural character of the Nebbiolo grape. Meanwhile, a more modern "international" style of Barolo uses small French oak barrels to add wood-fired spice flavors and a smoother texture, resulting in an earlier drink.

This 40-acre estate is run by Andrea Oberto and his son Fabio. Andrea founded the estate and began bottling the wines in 1978. Before that, the Obertos grew grapes and sold them. Since 1978, the winery has grown somewhat, but it is still family-owned and operated. Andrea works primarily in the vineyard, and Fabio is in charge of the winery operations. The estate is located in La Morra, one of the eleven comunes of the Barolo DOCG. Barolo: Home to some of the world's most powerful wines made from the Nebbiolo grape, the Piedmont village of Barolo has long been known as "the wine of kings, the king of wines." The best Barolo wines need 10-15 years before they are ready to drink and can age for several decades. Barolo is one of the world's most distinctive red wines, and experienced tasters generally have no trouble selecting it.

Incredibly scented with rose petals and dark fruits.
