Domaine Fumey Chatelain is located in Montigny-l\u00e8s-Arsures, in the Jura region. It was founded by Rapha\u00ebl Fumey and Adeline Chatelain in 1986. At the time, they started grape production and sales with 56 hectares of vineyards. In the spring of 1991, a terrible frost left them with so few grapes that they decided to vinify their own grapes, producing their first vintage. They developed the business by borrowing unused cellars and barrels from other winegrowers before settling in a dilapidated farmhouse. Today, the estate has 17 hectares of vineyards and is joined by their son, Marin, after having made wine several times in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The estate is currently farmed sustainably, but plans to convert to organic farming in the coming years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2020 Chardonnay is made from Chardonnay vines from different locations. The grapes are pressed directly, and fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts.
