Domaine Lapierre is located in Villi\u00e9-Morgon, in Beaujolais. A family business for three generations, grandfather Michel Lapierre moved to Villi\u00e9-Morgon at the turn of the century as cellar master at the Domaine des Ch\u00eanes. After World War II, his son succeeded him. He then sought to develop barrel sales to bistros in Lyon and M\u00e2con. In the late 1950s, he began selling his production in bottles and expanded the operation by purchasing some plots.<\/p>\n

In 1973, with a clientele forged by his father, Marcel Lapierre took over the estate, which then covered 7 hectares. It was in 1981, under the direction of Jules Chauvet, a well-known and renowned researcher at the Universities of California, that Marcel Lapierre decided to make wine without sulfur or yeast and to cultivate his vines biodynamically: without chemical fertilizers or herbicides. Today, despite his passing, the estate's energy remains intact. The vineyard, planted entirely with Gamay grapes (with an average age of 70 years), now covers 16.5 hectares.<\/p>\n

Cuv\u00e9e Camille has been crafted by Camille Lapierre since 2014. The Gamay wine undergoes a traditional Beaujolais semi-carbonic maceration in truncated wooden vats. The wine is aged for nine months in 216-liter barrels.<\/p>\n
