2018 Auguste Clape Renaissaince
$195.00
Since 1998, a second Cornas has been bottled: Renaissance. It is made with vines between 20 and 25 years old from the Domaine's best slopes, as well as older vines from the lower slopes. This wine ripens earlier than the classic, with an expected maturation period of two decades. Powerful and mineral aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, candied flowers, olives, musky earth, and exotic spices. Dense and vibrant on the palate, it offers flavors of sour cherry, cranberry, and spice cake that slowly unfold with the air and display fine delineation. Notes of blue fruits and flowers give it an impressively long and spicy finish, shaped by fine, slow-ripening tannins.
