2022 Wasenhaus Spatburgunder
$125.00
This might be your first experience with Wasenhaus, but I guarantee it won't be your last. These wines are highly coveted. They're pronounced (Vahhh-sen-House) and are made in the Baden region of Germany. The soil is pure limestone, which gives this Pinot Noir incredible energy. Some would say this wine is a gateway wine to the rest of the range, and I wholeheartedly agree. Once you fall in love with the reds, their Chardonnays are literally the bomb. The wine is Grand Cru level, meaning it's cut from the same cloth as some of the best in the region. A sip is like eating a crisp pomegranate in the middle of the Black Forest. It seems to have Burgundy in its DNA, but this Pinot Noir is truly unique.
