2021 Comando G Rozas 1st Cru Wine from a Single Estate

Rozas 1er Cru is made from old Garnacha vines growing in the Sierra de Gredos at an altitude of approximately 900 meters. A true reflection of what the cooler areas of Gredos have to offer. This wine underwent a longer aging process, six more months in concrete and then in an oak vat to polish the tannins. Pungent flavors and a persistence that defies the wine's apparent ethereal character. A wine in the purest Burgundian style.

One of the latest additions to the Garnacha range from San Martín de Valdeiglesias (Madrid) is Comando G, a joint venture promoted by Fernando García (Bodegas Marañones) and Daniel Gómez Jiménez Landi. The two young winemakers have discovered a unique vineyard, the highest in the Vinos de Madrid DO (between 900 and 1,100 m), near the Sierra de Gredos.
