2021 Famille Levet Cote-Roite AMETHYSTE

Améthyste is a single-varietal wine made from Petite Serine, an ancient and productive Syrah grape variety with smaller grapes and greater bunch volume. It is grown in the historic heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, on soils composed primarily of two-mica schists. The wine is traditionally vinified and matured for two years in demi-muid oak barrels before bottling. Améthyste offers a very seductive balance and harmony, enhanced by spicy aromas and a strong tannic structure that promotes good aging.
