2019 Pierre Gonon Les Oliviers Blanc

Pierre Gonon Les Oliviers St-Joseph Blanc 2019 is probably the finest example of a St-Joseph white wine from the Northern Rhône Valley. Typically produced with 80% % Marsanne and 20% % Roussanne, Gonon's Les Oliviers St-Joseph is more like a good Hermitage Blanc, with the latter appellation's special combination of concentration, elegance, and minerality. "Made with the winery's usual blend of 80% % Marsanne and 20% % Roussanne, the 2019 Saint Joseph les Oliviers Blanc is a little richer and honeyed than usual, marked by broad, ripe flavors of pear, melon, and pineapple. Medium to full-bodied with a silky texture on the palate, it is balanced by an acidic, saline finish that outlines and enhances the ripe flavors." Wine Advocate, 2022
