2016 Arnaldo Rivera Barolo Ravera

Arnaldo Rivera is the flagship range of Terre del Barolo wines. This Barolo comes from the Cru Ravera, a top-class vineyard in Novello, sourced from six plots at an altitude of around 400 meters. On the nose, it is intensely smoky, with aromas of raspberry and strawberry. The chalky white soils produce magnificent fruit aromas, while the sunny, south-facing exposure brings considerable depth to the fruit and ripeness to the firm tannins. The fruit intensity is also enhanced by a lower degree of oak than in other Crus, with some smaller, but none new, oak. It is elegant and stylish, a full-bodied, firm, and spicy wine with fine tannins. It exhibits tension and persistence, with a long, elegant finish. A long and deep Barolo to enjoy now or cellar for a long time, the Ravera is a classic.
