2018 Descendants of Jose Palacios Corullon
$149.00
The Descendientes de Jose Palacios Corullón 2020 is a red wine from the Bierzo region, made with Mencía grapes, with a small proportion of other local varieties. It is characterized by its pale color and aromatic notes of red fruits, flowers and light balsamic notes. On the palate, it is a light and grainy wine at the same time, with a balanced structure between tannins and acidity.
The main variety is Mencía, with a minority percentage of other local grapes such as Alicante Bouschet and white varieties. It's a pale wine, perhaps the palest in the history of Corullón. Notes of red fruits, flowers, and light balsamic notes predominate. It is described as a light, grainy wine, balanced between tannins and acidity, with a silky texture. Fermented in wooden vats, it is then aged in French oak.
The winery is characterized by the biodynamic cultivation of its vineyards, which include plots of old vines on slate soils, which contributes to the definition and purity of its wines.
