This single-varietal Garnacha wine, aged over 80 years, from San Martín de Unx is Raúl Pérez's first foray into Navarre. winemaker del Bierzo is the current owner of Domaines Lupier, bringing all his mastery to a house that has been garnering great international reviews.
Domaine Lupier El Terroir 2018 is aged for 24 months in used barrels and has an intense, concentrated, and elegant profile.
It is clean and aromatic, with a herbaceous freshness and a certain leafy note reminiscent of Mencía. The oak is perfectly integrated and blends into the wine, which is balanced and elegant, with a Mediterranean touch characteristic of San Martín. On the palate, it has a medium-to-full body, with very fine, chalky tannins. 24,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in October 2022.
Bright cherry color. Intense yet well-balanced. Its good acidity stands out, along with soft, well-integrated tannins. Its finish is lingering. Fragrant and delicate, with balsamic, chalky, red fruit, and mountain notes (rosemary, thyme, fennel, and mint). Best served at 16°C.
