2019 Clos St. Jacques 1er Cru

Domaine Armand Rousseau ranks with Romanée-Conti, Leflaive, Jacques Prieur and a small handful of names that are the stuff of Burgundian legend. These domaines produce wines of impeccable quality from vintage to vintage, and consistently place Burgundy at the top of the wine world.

In August 2012, following the purchase of the Chateau de Gevrey-Chambertin vineyards by its new Chinese owner, Louis Ng Chi-Sing, SJM Holdings’ COO in Macau, its management was confirmed to Eric Rousseau of Domaine Rousseau. The five-acre property, which includes the Chateau, is made up of small parcels of the Grand Cru and Premier Cru “Chambertin” vineyards, while the balance is Gevrey-Chambertin AOC.

Eric Rousseau insists that yields should be severely limited to promote the faithful expression of the individual vineyard. The wines are aged in barrel for 18 months before bottling. Rousseau releases his wines exactly two years after the harvest.
