This white wine offers a delightful fusion of ripe summer fruits and a delicate floral aroma, with Golden Queen peaches, poached pears, baked apples, mango, and melon, combined with fragrances of apple blossom and a hint of zesty lemon. The palate is succulent and crisp, with a subtle, fennel-like herbal quality and a dry, textural finish. A subtle and mature interpretation of the classic Marlborough style.
The grapes come from selected vineyards in the Southern Valleys and the central Wairau Plain in Marlborough, with soils ranging from young alluvial soils rich in Greywacke stones to the denser clays of the southern hills. The vineyards use Scott Henry canopy management systems or vertical shoot positioning (VSP), with appropriate plant density to optimize quality.
